I need to buy clothes for our trip and hopefully by then I'll be a bit skinnier. Here are 14 outfits that I want to pack:

Lancaster County 2011
For the last 4 years in October, I have been going to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania with my Aunt Judy to camp, sight see, and buy vegetables and baked goods. This year, my sister Casey is able to come with us and we're going in early November. We'll be staying at the Amish Country Motel instead of camping at Country Acres Campground because it's so cold. We got a package deal that includes 2 nights in the room, 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners each at the Bird-in-Hand Family Restaurant, 1 free shoo fly pie each from the Bird-in Hand bakery, and tickets to see the play, The Confession on the Bird-in-Hand stage. I'm so excited!
Friday:
We left Aunt Judy's house at about 8:30 am. We arrived at our hotel at about 12:30. It normally takes about 3 hours but there was a lot of construction that slowed traffic down.
We checked into our motel room and then drove around the country. It's a good thing we have a gps, because we still get lost out here on all the farm roads.
There were so many fields filled with pumpkins!
It's still interesting to see the horse-drawn carriages on the roads with the cars.
We stopped at the Pretzel stand that has the best pretzels I've ever had. Then we went to the Kitchen Kettle Village and shopped.
After that, we went to The Outhouse and the Shoo Fly Pie store. At dinner time, we went to the Bird-in-Hand restaurant and ate a "Smorgasbord" dinner. I was so stuffed at the end, it was hard to walk.
I could have gone to bed right then, I was so stuffed and sleepy, but we still had the play to see. It was very good and I had no trouble staying awake. It was based on Beverly Lewis' 3 book series The Shunning, The Confession, and The Reckoning. After the play, we went to the motel and went to bed.
Saturday:
We had a huge breakfast at the restaurant and then went to the Farmers Market and I went crazy buying bread, whoopie pies, cookies, beef jerky, and loose leaf tea.
Then we went back to the motel and the tour bus picked us up at 11:00 for a tour of the Amish country. We got the same bus driver we always have, which was a little disappointing because I'm sure the other drivers have different stories to tell, but it was still nice.
I video taped the tour this year:
We stopped at the pretzel place, the Quilt Shop, and The Hayloft Candle shop. I bought more and more whoopie pies bacuse they got cheaper and cheaper everywhere I went. I also got some pumpkins and neck squash, some canned beets for my dad, and a pot holder. I got the pot holder because every year, I attempt to make them for Christmas presents and fail to figure out how to fold the fabric right. So now I'll have a model. They have a petting zoo at the Hayloft, but there wasn't enough time to see it (I had already seen it in past years, but Casey hadn't yet).
After the tour, we went back to the petting zoo. The Scottish Highlander bull had been replaced by a little calf! It was so cute and had a long tongue that it would use to lick the feed out of our hands. I was unable to get a good pictur of this, unfortunately.
Then we went to the Bird-in-Hand bakery to get our free shoo fly pies. They had a lot of pretty and yummy looking food. I looove the fall cake:)
We went back to the motel to rest for a little while. Then we we to to the nearby winery, which they had expanded since the last time I was there. We then ate dinner and went back to the motel for the night.
Sunday:
It was daylight savings so we got an extra hour of sleep :) We packed the car all up with our luggage and recent purchases, then ate breakfast.
I probably gained 10 lbs from eating a buffet meal twice a day the whole weekend. We started to head back north, but hadn't even gone 2 miles before we saw another roadside stand with pumpkins, gourds, neck squash, mums, and asian cabbage plants.
I had never had a cabbage plant and it was really pretty, so I got one and a light orange mum plant. They were definitely not the healthiest, but were only $1 each so I figured it wouldn't hurt to have them look pretty on the porch for a few days at least. I got more neck squash and what I think is a hubbard squash?
